Rendur 2.1

This post is more than two years old. It might be still-relevant and maybe even awesome, but it's probably outdated (and likely embarassing!) Proceed with care.

An old web associate of ours, Greg, has worked up the latest version of Rendur, described as "a web monkey sandbox", and that's exactly what it is... a place to play with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and see your changes in real time, as you type.

The basic idea isn't terribly complicated, but Greg has implemented it in a really elegant way which contains features that make it not just cool, but actually useful as a tool. (For example: the ability to drag and resize the editing "window").

One really interesting application of this, would be using Rendur as a wiki-like single-page editor for "web monkeys" who would rather edit raw HTML and CSS than be confined to wiki markup. When tied into an appropriate authentication scheme, logged-in administrators could be shown the Rendur editing window, and could save their changes directly to file (using Rendur as a sort of editor/previewer)... those not logged-in could be simply shown the page.
