This post is more than two years old. It might be still-relevant and maybe even awesome, but it's probably outdated (and likely embarassing!) Proceed with care.
We've been big fans of the Hotline Client/Server applications for a while now, but recently discovered that future development seems unlikely, given the messy downfall of Hotline Communications. Though Hotline v1.8.5 is still in widespread use (and works damn well for divx and full album junkies like us), we've been looking for a future replacement.
Enter KDX (Windows/OS9/OSX), with a very similar, yet expanded feature set, and active development. Basically, if you like they way Hotline works, you'll like KDX. If you hate Hotline, you probably just don't know enough server admins.
